A Piece of Epicness

So Tyler and I just saw The Social Network...

If you haven't seen it, you really need to!  It is an awesome movie about how Facebook came to life.  Granted, it may not all be true, but it still completely changes how we view the one website that is defining the generations of today.  I have never been more proud of being a member of Facebook!

On a much simpler note, and by simple I mean primitive, not including technology, is my Friday class.  I'm taking Basic Drawing, and I have to say, it is absolutely MIND BLOWING!!!  Never have I been able to completely zone out as I did today.  For once in my life, I didn't pressure myself for my artwork to be perfect, with not a single flaw.  Really, you can't be perfect with charcoal.  And it's this fact that's finally taught me to let go.  I had my week made by sitting in class, listening to my professor read Dracula aloud from Chapter One (I must say, the rhythm of it is quite peaceful), and just having fun.  I can't wait to go every Friday to this class!

Accidental-Bacon-StarWarsMonopoly-Pyro-Cookie-OneRepublic-The Script Night!

It has happened.  The most epic night ever...is currently being lived!!!

It was completely unexpected.  Tyler and I, after picking up Sabrina's Star Wars Monopoly, suddenly came to the revelation that we were both hungry.  And Sonic sounded like the perfect solution to our ravenous problem.  So there we sat, sitting, viewing the menu, when Tyler said "Wow, something with bacon sounds great..." And I said, "Oh my gosh, yes it does!" And then Tyler whipped around to face me and exclaimed, "Is this BACON NIGHT???" And what could I answer but "YES!!!"

See, there was a point in the break where Tyler and I mentioned having a night where we ate something with bacon, played Monopoly, listened to OneRepublic and have an all-around great time.  We had thought of planning it on the first Slurpee Day, but that would have been very hard to coordinate, so we decided to wait.  But tonight...it all just fell into place! We had Monopoly, and there we were at Sonic with bacon within our grasp.  I had recently as of yesterday bought speakers for my iPod, which meant we could listen to OneRepublic and my recently acquired The Script album.  And we even had Chips Ahoy and a candle!

So as I write, we are enjoying Star Wars Monopoly by candle light, having been satisfied with bacon and listening to the Waking Up album by OneRepublic.

No one, has a life as epic as Tyler and I, the Slurpee Day Sidekick-Twins.  And this is to never be disputed.

New Semester, New Music, New Beginnings?

So I'm officially back in San Marcos, ready to begin another semester of what is proving to be some pretty great experiences at Texas State.  And a lot of things have changed.  First off, I have my own dorm room.  Granted, it's a single room, and tiny.  But as I am a tiny person, I feel like it may be proportionate to my needs.  The lack of a roommate is already an effect on me, seeing as I'm focused solely on myself when I'm in the room.

I have a lot of goals for myself this semester, the greatest being the goal to raise my grades and get 3 As or more this go 'round.  I feel like it's a goal I can meet, and hopefully with this new desk space, it can be a legitimate reality.

Another new thing is my music collection.  Of course, I'm always adding to it.  I recently acquired the new OneRepublic album called Waking Up.  And a wake up it was!  I have to say, I've never had such a powerful and moving experience listening to an album.  It was absolutely glorious!  The entire album made me feel like life was once again worth while, and why be sad when there is so much pure happiness in the world?  It was like a message from heaven, and it's become my new pick-me-up music, seeing as there are songs on it that I can't help but smile and sing along with when I hear them.  I feel like getting this album may be a sign of good things to come.  And also the fact that I have pre-ordered the new album of The Script, who are one of my favorite new bands.  I can't wait to hear what this album has in store.

It's a new year, new expectations, new everything! Even Slurpee Day schedule!  And hopefully, new, in this case, will definitely be better.
